  Minerva Stone Conservation
In addition to the annual programme of courses we are providing courses for Stone Masons and Apprentices to further their skills and to offer new training opportunities. They will learn from master craftsman who have a lifelong experience in this very specialised field.
The first course Tutored by Kate Semple took place on February 8th & 9th at Shute farm Studio for employees of Minerva Stone Conservation.

Minerva Stone Conservation, based in Bradford on Avon, specialise in the sensitive repair, conservation & stone restoration of old buildings, churches and historic monuments. Andrew Ziminski, director at Minerva Stone Conservation said “Minerva Stone Conservation is committed to the concept of training. All employees need to carry out their duties effectively. All of our staff have experience in different fields of conservation and currently continue to undertake formal craft skills training. This is a great opportunity to further develop their skills and knowledge”.

CITB Construction Skills who provide funding for those registered with CITB were able to support the course. Andy Chapman, Company Development Advisor visited the class whilst in progress and was delighted with the professional standard of Tutoring by Kate Semple and the students carving; a three dimensional traditional Tudor Rose.

Shute Farm Studio has another specialised course for Stone Masons and Mason Apprentices “The Acanthus Leaf” which will be tutored by Derek Carr in May.
